Your Loving Sister, Eurydice

16/12/1977

Dear Elliot,

You probably don’t know me. I was taken away when you were little. It’s me, your sister. This probably doesn’t make sense but it wouldn’t surprise me if you already figured that out. You were so smart as a baby, even though you couldn’t speak full sentences, I just knew you were going to be something special. I’m getting off topic, I do that a lot. Anyways, I want to tell you how I was taken away and make you understand that this is not my fault. It happened 20 years ago. I was 5. Hunter, your real dad, was a horrible man. He used to “shape me up” by beating me until I learned to go by his rules. “ You’re going to be miserable your whole life if you don’t follow my rules”. So I learned to follow his rules. You might be wondering where my mother was while this was happening, well, I don’t remember having a mother. All I know is that Hunter did something horrible to her because anytime I would do something wrong, he would threaten me by saying “ do right or you’ll end up like you’re mother”. When I was 14, Hunter brought a woman with a kid home. As you were probably guessing, the baby was you. You were the most handsome 5 month old I’ve ever seen. You had bright doe eyes and an innocent smile. I didn’t want Hunter to ruin that so I hid you from him most of the time. I taught you the important lesson. Don’t become Hunter. I tried so hard but I couldn’t keep you away from him forever. He beat me mercilessly, which I expected, but when he stomped his way towards you, something came over me. My vision was blurry, my head was pounding with voices saying “It’s time for his punishment”, over and over again, my feet started moving by themselves towards Hunter’s room and then toward his drawers. He used to always tell me about his guns and how they could cause great harm. And this harm was going to be great. I took the only gun I could carry and started to follow your cries. Once I saw Hunter, the voices started chanting “Time for your punishment”, over and over. I raised both of my arms and pressed the trigger. I could hear a combination of ringing and your cries. It must’ve hurt your little ears but I had to do what was best to help you. Once I came to my senses, I turned around to see your mom running toward the phone. Panicking, I raised my arms to show my innocence but accidentally pulled the trigger and shot her right before she got to the phone. She could barely move but had enough mobility to call the police. I was in shock. I felt like I was going to pass out. I felt like I was going to throw up. I sat down and just cried until I fell asleep. I was awoken by an officer poking me. He told me I needed to go with him and I silently complied. I confessed to everything. I felt a sense of pride because I knew you were out of trouble now.  At the trial, I pleaded guilty and heard everyone talking.  They thought I was a monster. They thought I was evil. I remember being confused. I saved this child. He was going to be put through years of torture if it wasn’t for me. I guess the jury saw my pride because I was sentenced  to death. Years later while I was awaiting my death, I realized that I became Hunter. I solved the problem with violence just like how he solved his problems. I have a few more years until I’m put to rest. I have accepted my punishment. I just hope the after life is nicer to me. I just hope you know that I love you, even though I didn’t stay with you and I want you to remember the lesson I taught you. Don’t become Hunter. But the lesson I want you to follow the most is violence isn’t the answer.  DON’T BECOME ME.

Your loving sister,

Eurydice

Kid in Different Places

Kids here could go to school until they graduate unlike in Pakistan where girls like Malala had to fight for that right .some kids might think we wake too early for school or school is just impractical but kids in Pakistan thinks it sensible. Some kids here think differently about school because they think it’s boring and too much work, however kids in Pakistan thinks it’s very useful.
Going to school is a normal thing but, kids are not interested. Some kids might be under- challenged. They go through their work quickly without any help, and never studies ( and still passes), however, Some kids are over-challenged and need help with everything because they might not pay attention or, they are just not interested

.
Girls in Pakistan usually don’t go to school but, as a result of Malala standing up for her rights other girls want to stand up for their rights by going to school even though it’s very hazardous. Girls are now thinking that school is very convenient just because Malala stood up for herself. Girls in Pakistan might think school is useful because they want to prove men wrong. A lot of men in Pakistan think that girls don’t need school, and they should let the men do all the work, but girls think in order to survive they need to learn however, girls are getting criticise for that.

If your one of the thousands of kids that don’t like school think if you were in malala shoes or any girl in Pakistan. Would you still not like school? Some Kids think differently about school because they are not interested however, kids in Pakistan thinks it’s handy.

The Shrewd Little Pakistani Girl

Malala’s voice was heard because she is a girl in pakistan going to school so, with all the attention she spoke for what she believed in. Malala wants to go to school go to school even though it’s dangerous. “I spoke about  how much I loved school. About how important it was to keep learning. “We are afraid of no one, and we will continue our education. This is our dream”” There’s no doubt that everyone will listen to her now however she is in even  more danger. Malala is not scared to tell the truth. For example she has said “ They thought that the bullets would silence us but they failed” she also said that being shot has made her stronger. Malala voice was heard she was not following the rules by going to school so with all the commotion she spoke for what’s right.

Changing the World a Little at a Time

Education is important to Malala because, she wants to change the world. Malala thinks with the right education anyone can change the world, so why can’t everybody have that chance. “One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen can change the world”- Malala Yousafzai. There is no doubt, that Malala grew up wanting to change the world and let everybody be happy and got to school. In the book it said Malala would pray frequently ,“God,please give me sanju’s pencil. I won’t tell anyone. Just leave it in my cupboard. I will use it to make everyone happy.” Education is crucial to Malala because she wants to make the world a better place.

Socializing In Different Ways

We all know that you can talk to your mom on the phone by texting talk or send pictures ,however I think talking in person shows more personality. While there some very noticeable differences, the similarities about communicating through technology and communicating in person are striking.

Both ways could be dangerous. In the united states people get robbed more than 300,000 times a year. My Dad got money stolen from his Xbox and he gave nobody any passwords. Once a man was live streaming and out of nowhere someone punched and robbed him. People can spread roomers. One girl got a message and it spread all over school. Another example is one girl had heard her friend wrong and told the whole school. You should be very,VERY careful of what to on the internet

There are many differences to talking through technology and talking in person, like you can talk to people all over the world if your talking online, you can’t go around the world unless you want to take more than an hour long flight. Another difference is you might not know who your talking to on the internet when you’re talking face to face you definitely know who it is but if you’re talking through technology

I think talking in person is better just because it’s a little bit safer,You might think the opposite but these similarities and differences might change your mind.

Wine Cup

It was easy to think of what to put on the cup                                                                                                                                    Like they say ” Easier said than done”

first, I had to paint the whole cup very faint purple                                                                                                                         It had to be as purple as a lotus flower                                                                                                                                                  then I had to get a darker purple                                                                                                                                                            This was all part of the plan

When I started painting I had noticed                                                                                                                                                 That the cup looked like chalk                                                                                                                                                               It felt like chalk too                                                                                                                                                                                   the paint was very grainy                                                                                                                                                                       And got all over my hands

After I was done with the light purple                                                                                                                                                   I started to draw little dark purple circles for grapes                                                                                                                         The circles looked like when you draw a circle with a pen then it smudged                                                                                  But I still liked how it looked

When they fired the cup                                                                                                                                                                           It looked like clean, painted, glass                                                                                                                                                         I was very proud of what I’ve done
